Debbie Banks
My approach is down to earth, straight talking and goal focused. I’m not your average life coach and when you read more about me you’ll see why. I am highly qualified and professional with extensive experience of working as a counsellor, mentor, life coach, and therapist.
I have had a varied and dynamic career beginning in the British Army, where I trained as a nurse. After leaving the Army, I spent many years as an Accident and Emergency nurse before a change of career. I worked in compliance for a financial services business, working my way up the career ladder to Director of Compliance.
My life was changed forever by debilitating chronic illness. Conquering this was a turning point for me, both personally and professionally. It gave me real insight, empathy and a strong desire to help others with emotional and physical difficulties.
I believe we all deserve self worth and the opportunity to be the best we can be. We all have the capacity within us to make profound change to our lives and I want to help people make that journey.
Who am I?
Nurturer
My demanding role as a nurse gave me great insight, understanding and empathy. Life’s wounds can be troublesome. I have seen much misfortune and have developed a constructive attitude towards countering problems, instead of being overwhelmed by them.
I believe problems are an opportunity for personal growth and a learning experience. Challenges are a part of life and there are ways to overcome them.
Believer
I have always embraced life with a strong belief system. With courage, determination and point blank refusal to give up – you can do anything. I believe that everybody has the ability to emerge as winners, and having faith and direction can lead to success.
I work to empower individuals to achieve what seems impossible. Determination and courage are my strengths. I help you develop these to live successfully.
Survivor
I have had my share of life troubles and I have come out as a winner. And so can you! Life has not always been straightforward for me.
I have had to overcome many challenges. I have in more recent years recovered from a debilitating chronic illness and cancer in my 30’s. It has been a testing journey to re-discover a zest for life but it has made me who I am today.
Motivator
I am a tough lady, from an Army background and as a life coach, my clients get results. If you’re lacking impetus, or have lost your way…I’m just what you need to kick-start your life. My ethos is all about challenging and motivating you to be the very best you can be.
Sportsperson
At the tender age of 14 I swam the English Channel. I have also competed internationally at triathlon, and am an accomplished horsewoman.
Business Woman
My diverse career, from helping run our family farm to working at the level of Director in financial compliance has given me a wealth of experience. I have an MSc in Governance/Corporate Social Responsibility, and run my own business.
